Where we fit

Our focus is Business Transaction Management (BTM), which also describes our Cohesions software product.

However, we see BTM as the forerunner of a newly-emerging category, Business Transaction Processing, which combines flows, interactions and transactions - in other words, Business Process Management (BPM), Business Conversation Management (BCM) and Business Transaction Management (BTM).

Reliable messaging can be an important adjunct to these new technologies in assisting in the provision of reliable, recoverable outcomes. However, it is not a mandatory piece of the picture: we believe it will take considerable time for interoperable reliable messaging to become widespread, let alone ubiquitous.
