Business problem
To establish an effective parallel testing environment, whereby the existing and future production behave in a reliable, predictable way, requires the delivery of reliable and predictable updates. Cohesions can ensure that the two systems are coordinated during this update process and thereby isolate the genuine application errors from failures in the update process itself. The long-running nature of Cohesions transactions means that the production system does not need to wait for the update of the test system.

Technical issues
Updates that are applied to production systems need to be consistently applied to test or parallel run systems. This need to be carried out in a way which does not disrupt or delay the current production system because of test or parallel run system issues.

Cohesions solution
Cohesions can provide transaction models where there is a very loosely-coupled relationship between two or more systems such that a production system is updated but Cohesions continues a transaction until it has updated a secondary system (or fails to update, such that compensatory action is taken such as inserting the transaction into a repair queue).
